BTW how is Capitol Hill?  Many don't have masks!

It has been a long held view that covid-19 miraculously ceases to exist during protest - therefore probably taking the stop the steal protests outside of the bounds of a covid conversation.

On another note, anyone getting vaccinated?

I was talking about it with my dad (socially distanced and with all the correct PPE of course).

I'm not so bothered about the vaccine, but I particularly don't like using the health service unless I absolutely have to.

ericthatwho

Why are people stills talking about this? Remember when they said it would be over,if its over whats the fuss why is a vaccine necessary?

Since we are all talking about my case when I was in Navy a long time ago I got a flu shot I've never been so sick,so wear a mask get covid.

One of instance should not be generalized. If someone thinks mask is like an undergarment, then it is the responsibility of the parents to educate the child

This is just one example of the anti social behavior that's becoming normal. This child is 2. Reasoning with a 2 year old isn't as easy as you might think. All the child sees is people wearing masks, to the point where someone was NOT wearing one frightened him. People can be imprinted very early on in life.

If isolation becomes the norm, it will have consequences. There is even speculation right now among scholars and behavior experts that people like Ted Kaczynski developed their anti social behavior after, you guessed it, quarantine. When he was a baby he had an illness that resulted in a 10 day isolation and quarantine. He is said to have never been the same after that.

Unintended consequences.

The parents should evaluate if they want to protect their child by maintaining social distances or expose their child! Hope they make a good choice.

Getting vaccinated is individual's choice but to behave responsibly is mandatory

Wear a mask. Social distance. Take the vaccine. Common sense, if you don't lack a brain.

ego7734

I ain't getting vaccinated

AadalamVa

What could you expect from a bunch of hooligans? Do you think they will be responsible in public and wear masks and keep social distance?

Regarding the vaccine, it's not quite as simple as something you just accept. Last time I used the health service, I had two infected feet from a summer job that I had. I phoned the doctor's surgery 80 or 90 times only to be given a phone appointment. A little while later the common practice was that people needed to line up outside at 7am in order to be given a face-to-face appointment. This was all pre-covid.

Again, a lot of people I know have no issues with the vaccine, but do not use the health service for anything unless they absolutely need to.

I also found out about the first covid death of anyone my sort of age. One of my friends that I went to school with went into intensive care and his sister died. They were both morbidly obese. Last time I bumped into him, he had gotten so bad that he was out of breath simply walking. I would say he's probably about 17/18 stone (like 230 pounds American). Risk groups are important and hopefully this can be part of a more general push for good health practices as apparently half of Americans are overweight.

The consequences might be lots of work for psychiatrists later.....quick switch your major/profession.

Well that's a very good point. Shrinks, mental health experts, and behavior experts are going to be working overtime for years to come.

Of course. But that number is quickly rising. In our state it's so bad we just legalized hard drugs. Not technically legalized, but eliminated the punishment to the point it's not really enforceable anymore. We eliminated almost all penalties for drugs like heroin, meth, cocaine, etc. And we outright legalized the mushrooms that cause hallucinations. This has all been brought on by the covid. I understand some people will say those drugs all needed to be legalized anyway, even before covid, but the recent mental stresses certainly accelerated their acceptance.

Covid is just an excuse if people can not or will not accept responsibility for what they do legalese it blame someone/something besides me.

Loonies are everywhere its easy for some to invent reasons why every one who does not think being told is good (they say is wrong.)

Personally drugs should be legal in your own home but we have lots of drunks and drug craved people driving cars and stealing so we need to lock em up and through the key away.

Problem5826

Was listening to an interesting discussion today on the rise of drug use, and the Portuguese system since Scotland reached it's highest drug deaths on record in 2019.

I do agree that there is an issue with treating as an illness, which it simply isn't.

Better move out of there, or don't talk about this too much. All the heavy drug users will go there. They are pretty mobile because they spend mostly on drugs and don't own much. At least they will mostly all be in one place.

Chill out, @Adam. You are getting all aggro on everyone lol

I believe you are legitimately very concerned about covid. I really wonder whether you are as bothered about public health in general or just covid?

For example, do you go on at as much length about smoking cigarettes, obesity, and other such things?

Apples and oranges and you know it. Those are self induced, obesity MAY be genetic. Covid is given by the dirty non-mask wearers to those that try to take care of themselves. Realize now why we are aggro? I'm tired of things not being back to normal because of some red hats that don't do their part and mess it up for everyone.

MovedtoLiches

Covid has doubled the death rate in our county.

Is your name @Adam?

Why are you white knighting another grown man?

I'm trying to understand the mindset. Which I find illogical and completely unrelatable. The gent can speak for himself with a proper answer, not spoken for by you with a cop-out.

This is a discussion, so I posted, pretty simple really. Not a very difficult concept to grasp. Instead of being offended by me adding to the conversation, perhaps you should instead post a response aimed at the actual substance of what was said by me.

I think he’s a mentally challenged kid. Go easy on him.
