So myself and my Doppelganger old badcabby have been spending time around here for over 10 years. Recently I seem to have attracted a new fan ( a Rookie Mod ? ) and they gave me a couple of days off, Over the years we have lost some oldtimers like Andy and Autobunny, etc etc, and now I see why they left ( lack of Customer Service ? ), I sent a note to Help and Support, no answer of course. What a Joke lol.

Yes they do not seem to mind the cash that I'm paying yearly to get rid of the ads, However the customer service part does seem to be a bit lacking. Will things get better or will they get worse around here ? Time will tell.

I guess I'm still a rookie. Started as a mod last March. I have been playing on the site for a pretty long time, however.
based on many posts from current and former mods, as well as input from other longtime members, i don't know if 'rookie mod' is accurate. it could be, certainly. let's look at both scenarios.
1. action is taken by a rookie/rogue mod to mute, delete, lock topics, or, generally speaking, act like a power hungry jerk. this has happened, and the response from their superiors show that staff will not admit to indiscretions and really doesn't care when they make mistakes.
2. everything starts at the top. owners likely dictate how staff and mods decide on mutes and other punishment, and, might even dictate reactions of said staff and mods. there is ample evidence of this.
my take on many of these situations is that it is probably a little of both. neither of which is good for the members or enhances the reputation of the site. a big fat fail, and why some mods have quit.

Thanks for the post, which contains some good points. Of course Help & Support did not bother to reply to my question. We do tend to think of this site as a place to visit and to have fun at, But of course this site is a business ( customer service anyone ? ). And as I've said in one of my threads: People come and people go, so what are we left with ? Have fun while you are here ? Because we all will leave sooner or later, one way or another ?
h & s here is a joke now. i would bet not a single staff member reads the topics there, and that is based on reading them.
why were you muted? was it one of the bots we all hate? or, was it one of the twelve year old mods that decided something you wrote was unacceptable?
On the mute all they told me was that I broke one of their precious rules, possibly I gave a goofy answer to a post in a thread that a mod did not like. Well in this case I had more time to play cards ( poker ) or spend more time visiting YouTube, etc.
Risking more odd activity, I will ask the following question: is this the part where we play the video of Judy Collins doing " Send In The Clowns " ?
What's funnier: Long time members who complain and keep paying and staying or long time members who don't pay and stay anyway.
It's a chess site where 90% of members play chess not chat. Don't expect much attention to be paid here. They never have, They never will.
