Hopefully it didn't get cut off on mobile...
Daily Dream Journal Thread

Which 3 dots? The ones on the word T.O.S?

Thanks for the thread, Will! I don't dream hardly at all that I can remember, but I'll be sure to drop by every once in a while. Thanks for always creating high-quality content for OTF.

That's alright! I used to think the same thing, but in the past when I got in the habit of recording anything, even a small memory that I had, the details quickly got larger and larger until I remembered at least one paragraph or longer dream a night. I partly made this thread for myself to be honest, because I fell out of the habit and want something to remind me to stick with it, because it's well worth it

That's interesting. I'll be sure to record the details that I can remember every morning. I don't have a particular interest in lucid dreaming like many others, but I think it's worth trying!
And no, thank you!

K! Lemme know where it cuts off and I'll post the rest!

Awesome! Don't be embarrassed if you don't have much at first because I probably won't either, it's been a little while since I was in the habit so I'm back at square one as well.

Where’s it cut now?
You only have to post what you feel comfortable posting, but don't leave out crucial details unless the entire dream has questionable content in which case, maybe focus on the details of the environment you were in as it occurred instead.
2. Stay within T.O.S. I'm not your mother, if you want to push things and fly a little close to the sun, I'm not going to block you. But if you outright break the T.O.S clearly and repeatedly, I will obviously have to block for the thread's safety.
3. Even if what you recall is a little or a short memory, that is still valuable and still boosts your recall. Trust me, if you keep it up, your dream recall area of the brain becomes like a muscle: it gets stronger and you will remember more and more details over time. If you remember nothing still log that you remember no dreams in order to keep the habit going.
4. Don't be a jerk to people. This should be a positive space, if you dislike someone else's dream, please don't decide to harass them about it, and instead ignore it if you feel that strongly about it.
These aren't required but I recommend trying them!
1. Try dream delving if you intitally remember nothing when waking up. This consists up trying to recall first in the position you woke up in, then rolling into other positions you might have used during the night. This has been shown to sometimes trigger memories in some studies, although there isn't an exhaustive amount of research towards it yet.
2. Point out the points in your dreams where you should've realized you were dreaming. This could increase your chances of having a Lucid Dream, especially if you think about these moments as you fall asleep, a technique known as Mnemonic Induction Of Lucid Dreams or MILD.
3. Mention if you initially remembered nothing and then something during your day triggered a memory!
With all that out of the way, enjoy! I am going to bed soon, so happy dreams to all, and good night/good morning depending on where you are!

How do I permanently retain the power of telekinesis and flight in my dreams?
You can't, but if you had a lucid dream you could choose to do such things. But trying to Lucid dream is hard without a dream journal, hence why not try starting one on this thread? Plus there's lots of other benefits too.

Gosh dam it, on random occasions I'll have dreams where I'm almost like a Demi god, then other dreams I'm reduced to a weakling of my real self

Quick TLDR for the mobile users:
Write your dreams or whatever you remember in the morning (or even if you remembered nothing).
I recommend keeping a physical dream journal and then moving them over here when you have time as that way you won't waste time searching up the thread
Profit
And that's pretty much it really, although obviously the first post is in much greater detail
Welcome!
Dreams are fascinating things. They can be unnerving, exciting, peaceful, and just about any other emotion under the sun. They are truest form of peaceful chaos, a blend of all recent memories jumbled around and twisted with in wild and unexpected ways. Not much is known about them however, although one discovery that studies seem to support is an interesting one: logging them daily when you wake up has a surprising number of benefits, such as increased chances of achieving a Lucid Dream (a dream where you are aware that you are dreaming during the dream and thus can control aspects of the dream), increased dream vividness and detail, and even long term memory benefits.
So, that's what this thread is here for. In the morning, log any dreams you had, or if you had none, ALSO LOG THAT. This is extremely important, if you don't get in the habit of logging when you don't have anything to say, then when you do have something good, you won't feel like it and will probably just hit snooze and roll over! So it's important to stay consistent. This thread is here to allow you to commit to sticking to the habit! You can record in a manual handwritten journal first and then move them over here later if you wish, and in fact I recommend doing so, because writing things by hand has been suggested in studies to commit them into memory better. I just have a few rules:
