Daydreams are great except they happen at an inconvenient time and are much less vivid

I slept pretty bad today. I woke up at 4:30 and felt weird. I did a few reality checks but I was in reality. I think I might've woken up from a dream. Also, my pulse suddenly increased to about 100 bpm a few minutes before waking up. I couldn't remember any dreams though. I took long to fall back asleep and for some reason I felt hot, I was even sweating a bit, even though it's pretty cold outside. That made me so a reality check again but I still wasn't dreaming.

No dreams today. Ah well. I couldn't fall asleep last night too which was weird but might explain it

I can see why it's called off topic

I've dreamed a few times this week. If I keep at it hopefully it'll get a bit easier. From what I remember once you get into a rhythm it starts to get considerably easier

Well you have, but you just forgot it. I used to think that some nights we just don't dream but that's actually not possible. Everyone dreams every night typically 2-4 times a night, but various factors lead to people forgetting them easily. If you make writing them down a priority though, you'll slowly get better until most nights you remember a decent size dream.

But how does this rhythm start?

I just have a really crappy memory for stuff like that

Well, you just do it right away, log even if nothing happened. If you're repeatedly over and over failing to recall any details at all for weeks then it might mean not enough sleep or simply that you're forgetting to write the dreams down without realizing in the morning. Ultimately though you just do it at your own pace. Any effort at all makes progress.
