The other case also seems unfair, it would be nice if support could not just ignore users randomly.

I have a sneaking suspicion that cc in general listens far less to its younger userbase, because users have frequently had issues at younger ages here with their accounts, far more so than the older folk. I certainly hope that's not what's going on, but really no matter how you dance around it, the core problem of this site is that staff is frequently biased in their moderation and usually does not properly address this.

I talked to Macca a tiny bit on a different platform about his closures, but I never imagined they were this unjust.

Chess.com is a corporate entity that only has one moral - sanitize the forums of anything remotely controversial to create a good brand image and make money. The support staff and moderation in the forums is barebones and thin intentionally - to save money. As far as cc is concerned, any member who takes extra attention is just money lost, unless they happen to gift a lot of memberships. Those people tend to get special leniency.
