My mother-in-law is a full-blooded Scotswoman and my huaband has been forced to at least TRY many Scottish dishes.

Well . . .it was SUPPOSED to be an advice column and then @HiramH and @Witkrag came along and wreaked some havoc!

What advice would you give about the ins & outs of being patient? (Especially during slow or unchanging hardship.)

As a Christian, I pray a lot about handling hardships with grace. Patience is a really weak area for me so I give it over to God and then I'm able to be nicer and not such a raging maniac(how I am when I lose my temper!)

@Pegusu my expectations for my dream boyfriend are very specific. is this a problem?

Witkrag

Patience and fortitude and things will come your way.

If it were easy, most people would be patient.

It could be - depends on what your expectations are. If you’re looking for someone who’s kind and smart and funny, then those are reasonable expectations. Be open to different people because you might end up really getting along with the last person you’d expect to like. P.S. My husband and I couldn’t stand each other when we first met!

Obviously, but I tend to be unusually impatient! 🙄😤

P.S. And one more thing to evaluate - look at how the young man’s father treats his mother - that’s the role model he’s grown up with.

I meant, good job. Not all are patient. Being patient is not easy.
