i will name all the useless martial arts and then all the useful ones:

useless: tai chi, wing chun, shaolin kung fu, akiado, ninjtsu, some forms of karate. whem i say useless i mean that the fighting styles wouldnt help defend yourself but they may have good stamina training as shaolin kung fu is rumored to do but as every video i have ever seen on shaolin kung fu contradicts eachother and the only fighter they have ever produced, yi long, uses kickboxing not shaolin kung fu i am not sure about how legitammite the martial art is. as for akiado and wing chun the only way any of it works is if your attacker voluntarily falls to the floor in the case of akiado or punches like a 2 yr old in the case of wing chun bc wing chun has no footwork as for ninjitsu its just complete crap. period.

useful: muay thai bjj kickboxing wrestling sambo mma boxing some forms of karate and parts of krav maga

the reason why i say these are useful is bc i think this stuff would actually work in the street and also bc when the practitioners of these martial arts train their sparring partner isnt letting them do whatever they want and is actually putting up resistance

No. I mean that you make a lot of valid points.  However, I think that most of your “useless martial arts” aren’t totally useless.

They have very good uses but as time goes on, martial arts also evolve. There’s a lot of good in most older martial arts, but I can see why you would say they are useless.

I think it’s like comparing a samurai vs a Navy Seal today. Although the fiercest warrior at its time, the Samurai aren’t really a match for the Navy Seal because the technology and weapons are outdated. It doesn’t mean that they suck but just aren’t prepared to face such advancements.

Does that make sense?

I still think that in certain contexts, traditional and older martial arts styles would still be effective
