The mind isn't merely the abstract persona that we identify as, but the entire mapping of our subjective experience. What we are is what we think about and percieve. The ego is merely a subsect of the mind, rather than the mind itself. Thus, we must either distinguish the person from the mind, or eliminate the concept of the persona entirely. Well, not entirely. We must reduce the abstract personality to a neurological phenomena, however the problem with that is that it creates the ultimate irony and paradox of being we hold on to so tightly in our culture. It's what all of Western philosophy is predicated on. Without oneness, how do we know "we" exist? What about logic? Does logic exist? This, my friends, is the ultimate irony of being. Once we realize that we are simply neurological phenomena, we begin to question ourselves. That's why religion exists; to comfort us from reality. How do we know the external world exists if everything is interpreted and parameterized internally? Is there even the concept of "external", or is it all in our heads?

....well, no... to r e c o g n i z e reality, and slip away from the claimed sense of it, only placing bondage to it’s nightmare that civilization was only born into, to then grow apart from AND realize reality.
