I don’t like Mark Rober because of his ‘hiding the vegetables’ philosophy to teaching engineering. He says that first you hook them on the cool stuff and then bring in math and actual science to describe it once you have them on the hook. He has a big enough audience that he could try and start swaying the public’s minds and the stigma that equations are vegetables. There is nothing scary about math and science and seeing a top educator act like they must be hidden and treat them like vegetables only worsens the problem.
