Earth is flat. Prove me wrong.

At 1st glance one might think this spinning rotation would cause the water to fly off into space. Indeed, this did happen millions of years ago . But over time this motion pushed the majority of the ice- bergs to the edge, where they solidified and formed a natural barrier.

See previous posts where I discribed my journey and became the 1st known human to peer over the edge.

The information regarding what I saw remains classified until 2021.

Just a short note re the difference between planetary, stellar and galactic spun on the one hand and particle "spin" in the other.

Elementary particles in quantum mechanics are said to have "spin" but this is said to be a property rather than an observable spin. It is inferred from observing particle behaviour from a distance.

One illustrative property of elementary particle spin is that if appears to be able to change direction, eg from right to left, absolutely instantly which, according to classical mechanics is impossible.

So planets, stars and galaxies "rotate" and particles "spin" and never the twain shall meet.

The earth is flat by the way. Its just that gravity screws that up and makes it appear curved like space and time.

Wow! What if earth goes all the way to heaven!! Wait...what if the earth has already passed heaven? Like bzillions of years ago? Wait a minute...when we bury people in the ground do they fall to heaven?

They fall to heaven? Now, where did I put my shovel...

Good to have a fellow scientist to set me straight. The layman terminology I used was not technically correct fellow flatlanders.

The question asked was 'how" does the earth rotate?

Hmmm...

The way I see it, once a body is set in motion it remains in motion. Ha ha! That's clever.

That darn quantum level, always messing with the laws of common sense. 1st spinning one way, then the other. Now it's here, but it's there all at the same time.

We should feel very lucky our flat earth remains constant and continues to obey Newtons laws.

Almost. Every so often God twiddles the stick it's balanced on or it would slow down and fall off. He has to be quick because there's Pluto teetering on the edge now! Run, God, run and twiddle Pluto's stick before it falls off!

Occasionally a planet disobeys one of Newtons laws and is sentenced to be swallowed up by a black hole.

That helps to keep the others in order.

When you look at a ship coming in from the horizon, the top of the ship appears first. If the Earth were flat then the ship should be appear all at once.

Avatar of cavetiger
That ship is actually a submarine and its surfacing is all.

That's an optical illusion caused by your curved eyeballs.

Very good! I new there was an exception or two regarding my statement. There always is.

Someone ought to lock that Galileo bloke up. He's nothing but trouble.

Very convincing:

It is hard to prove that Earth is not flat since from our point of view, it looks really flat.

The Flat Earth Society is a hard trolling; they are trolling even NASA and scientists.

And a northern brassiere to put them in.

lol Marco.

So flat-earthers don't believe in gravitational attraction?  I don't understand why you would be so determined to defend such a belief.

I am not defending it. I only said they made a wonderful trolling.

Besides, they have nice refutation for all other theories, including gravitational attaction.

Their theory is consistent in some aspects.

We are all God's puppets and if the earth was round it would make yanking our strings a lot more complicated.
