Is there a way to leave your change screennames without losing all your content?
Yes, that can be done. I did it, but I cannot recall how. I think I asked support for help in resetting my user name.

Never accept friend invites from people you don't actually know! That's my best advice. And set your privacy settings on facebook to the highest levels possible.
My comment may not be too helpful, but I am wondering what role was played by accepting this guy as a friend. If you had not accepted his friend request, he would still know your name anyway, and that, presumably, was the basis for his ability to find your home address.
