Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded you, be strong and of good courage? Do not be afraid, not be thou dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you, wherever you go.

I'm not religious. How does saying be strong and courageous help anyone? I'm pretty sure most people know they should be strong and brave so it's nothing deep. Is it that because of faith and trust in God that just him saying it makes you more likely to follow it? It's a genuine question I'm not mocking. I actually wish I was religious because I think it can help people. I think my mind is just too questioning to think that "God says it so I'll do it".

Your not the only one, but I’m still religious, I don’t think it’s possible to have true religious faith without having any doubts about it

That's true - in this life, our faith is far from perfect. Hopefully, it continues to grow over time.

Thanks for being honest, and for sharing your thoughts truthfully and also in a respectful way.

God is saying it to those that are growing closer to Him, they that are in the world yet not of it, and are conforming to SPIRIT, therefore the flesh warreth the spirit and they more prone experiencing tribulation, especially if they're literally by themselves, and He at their side and comforting them when need be. Learning one's True Being Is a road, that, absolutely more should be on for definitely their wellbeing and Eternal forevermore experience.

Deepak Chopra couldn't have said it better. Or could he?
