In all honesty, I have noticed more Palestinian flags recently. We may just be allowing our own biases to determine what we are seeing--what I am suggesting is our personal biases are causing us to see something is not really there.
What you are suggesting is, of course, that people are changing their flags as a show of support for Israel in the current conflict. I seriously doubt on an international site like this that support for one side or the other predominates. Furthermore, people tend to react in an emotional way to the latest news and all the civilian casualties have been in Palestine for quite some time--whatever your position on the abstract right or wrong of the situation, a person heart bleeds when you see the pictures from Palestine. So I suspect if some people changed their flags after October 7, I suspect other people have changed their flags after Israel's invasion of Palestine. (That is not a political statement chess.com moderators! Just an honest assessment of the flag situation!)
I have noticed more Israeli flags lately, and am wondering if people are changing their flags as a political statement. Does anybody know if this is the case, and or see the same?
