Flaw in parental systems that needs addressed

Hey @DigitalMastr 👋
You’re right to point this out—browser-based parental controls are often just surface-level filters. A determined user (especially a tech-savvy teen) can usually find workarounds like you described, which is why relying only on browser restrictions gives a false sense of security.
You're also right that network-level monitoring (like router-based DNS filtering, or using a system like Open DNS or CleanBrowsing) is a stronger approach. It filters internet traffic regardless of what the user does in their browser, and most cases, it can’t be bypassed without access to the router or admin settings.
Still, even those have limits, and the best approach is usually a mix of tech tools and human oversight—filtering, logging, AND open conversations about online use and safety.
Appreciate you raising this—it’s important info for parents, educators, and anyone using monitoring tools who may not realise the gaps. 👏
