If you're still using the LastPass password manager, you might want to watch the last two episodes of "Security Now".

Taking a hard pass on LastPass.

I never bought in on the idea of a password manager. I really feel for the people who trusted LastPass...

I hardly trust google to save my passwords.  All of my pass words are written down and tucked away.  I might see why some people would use it for work, maybe.  But other than that what’s the use for password managers?

Well, a good password is one that's very long and generated with random characters. Unfortunately, people can't remember good passwords, so the idea of a password manager is to keep all of your long and strong passwords so that you can just copy and paste them as needed. Then, all you have to remember is your one master password for the password manager.

However, the downside of a password manager is that all of your passwords (and any other personal info you put in it) are all in one basket, so you'd better be darn sure that your basket is safe from attack. Sadly, LastPass didn't do a very good job of protecting its customers' baskets from attack.

That’s too bad.
