Yeah, that would stop all these spammers as well as kids who only use this site to socialize.
It wouldn't stop either. Both would just play a game and continue.

Make it 1 hour of play, regardless of format so they can't cheese it quickly by resigning 3 games
Anyway yeah I kinda agree with basix. The spam is so obvious in their titles that it's easy to ignore. Much worse are the normal threads that seem cool but then turn out to be completely disappointing.
Well, there are plenty of threads that start out well, but it’s near impossible to keep a thread going without the entire topic being ignored, and turned into a discussion about something else instead.
Thus is the nature of a public forum. Just like this thread
I guess I'm complaining more about the threads that are boring and pointless right from the getgo
Well there are a lot of them that are made nowadays, much as the “person above you” threads, or just simply threads made for the sake of attention by spamming the forums with useless posts. There aren’t many amazing thread creators nowadays, but some of them aren’t so bad, and allow a discussion to take place.

Maybe a 1-2% reduction in the amount of spam but unlikely.

New members that might have legitimate reasons to post, very well could be turned off the site and go elsewhere. There's unlikely to be a requirement like that.
