Frank Zane And The Mind-Muscle Connection

My younger brother reads bodybuilding magazines such as Flex, and I have
become a big fan of the great Frank Zane.  One of the only persons to ever
beat Arnold in a major competition, he is also very intelligent, having taught
mathematics and physics.
He posed again at age 65, and you can't believe how good his physique still
is, I'm afraid much better than Arnold's at the moment.  Zane is only around 200
pounds, and I think that has helped him as he ages.
The relation to chess here is a concept called the "Mind-Muscle Connection,"
a mysterious idea that has been debated since the days of Charles Atlas.  Zane
uses "Mind Relaxation" machines to relax him and go to calming "States", which
he believes has helped him stay at such a high level for so many years.
I am always reading about the concept because I have a family friend with
Multiple Sclerosis, and I believe the riddle of Neuromuscular Diseases will one
day be solved with better understanding between the mind and the muscles,
and then a better understanding of the brain, neurons, and so forth.
You can got to Frank Zane's website to read about his beliefs and see some
incredible photos of the man himself.
