The book is seven short stories of the paranormal: A hundred-year-old ghost who claims to still be pissed off about freezing to death in his apartment; a Mayan who is the first dissident in his brand-new city but has help from powerful, if intoxicated, friends; and a really odd and inefficient decision by God to send an angel to visit a particular young mom.  I mean, come on, God, get with the program, here.  Plus more.  It’s a short book, but hey, it’s only two bucks.

Beware, there is some humor in most of these stories.  You’ve been warned.
