do your relatives get the body back?
Full body donations

Your relatives get the choice of having your body returned, yes. If they dont want it, it is disposed of.

Wouldn't it be terrible if you donated your body to medical science and then medical science contested the will?
MSteen, I don't think she'll be as bouncy and appealing as a cropse but then I have no idea what your tastes extend to. In the meantime, does the phrase "restraining order" mean nothing to you?

They're welcome to me... whatever they can make use of. But a funeral without my body present may upset some family members. Maybe if they just gave back a small piece, just as a token. (except there aren't many small pieces of me... they're all kinda long and lanky).
My closest family have all discussed this and we all know each other's decisions on it. My father died quite suddenly very recently and I'm proud to say he was a donor, those were his wishes.
We may laugh at stuff like this, but it is important... I'm only alive now because of advancements in medicine.
I just recently did this and realised how few people know about it. The medical profession are desperate for full body donations, which are used for surgeons to practice on, research and the advancement of medicine. If you google "full body donation" and your area, you will see contact details and a simple phone call will enable you to receive details and the relevant form. Its very easy to do, and on your death, your body is collected with minimum hassle to your next of kin. Many donate organs but few think of this option. Please consider it.
