IIRC, the send button can be disabled in the preferences. A new app is in the works (already available for Android). No ads for premium members (gold is fairly cheap).
Ha't gott!
I think 99% of the players agree that SEND is rubbish. The app is highly unstable, there is rubbish popup during games. The analysis board often chrashes. The app offers 'rate this app' but cannot submit. Defend this, and you are an idiot.
It is possible to point out defects without using such a strident tone. Especially since it's free. Or if you don't like ads you can pay to have them removed.
I absolutely disagree. I am constantly making mouse errors and clicking the wrong space. Without having the send button to confirm my move, at least 25% percent of my moves will my due to mouse control errors. Even with the button, i sometimes accidentally click the send button when i am trying to click cancel. I lost a queen once that way!

First of all, under no circumstances should there be any SEND buttom at all. It is entirely idiotic. Move the piece on the board (screen). Thats it. No extra retarded click "to confirm". Secondly, 'disable' should be default, as in every other software. 3rd: often, the "disable" actually doesn't work!! The SEND appears anyway! Don't inform me this, that it can be disabled; do you think I couldn't figure that out? It is the very fact that it can be disabled that is so extremely ridiculous; who got this silly idea to put it there in the first place?? Why are some defending this nonsense? Don't you want to be able to play chess with as few distractions as possible??!??
I like the SEND button -- sometimes I don't want to play touch-move. And I like having more choices rather than less. No need to blow a gasket just because this site has some options that you choose not to use.
What's wrong with chess.com ?? I think about suicide more since I became a member.
That's probably just because you're playing chess more often, and just wanting some games to be over.
I like the send button as well; when switching between analysis mode and playing the game it would be easy to accidentally send a move using the wrong mode but with the send button this doesn't happen. The OP has rather a god like opinion of his own preferences. "I don't like something, ergo it must be rubbish and eveyone who disagrees with me is a self evident idiot. Also I can't even be bothered to set an option switch to disable a mode I don't like".
Way to win friends and influence people... Not.
kaynight: How could you assume such a tone?!

Like the guy right above me. And the OP. etc. etc.

Good point about the accidents that can happen when switching between play and analysis modes. And yet another good reason for the SEND button is that it completely avoids the problem of mouse-slips.
Why is there a "SEND" buttom? It is so enourmously unlogical. No other software has this (Chessbase, Convecta, Chessmaster). Remove it immediately.
