I'd wager that if they did get rid of the confirm button you'd be back here complaining after an accidental move or two. I love the confirm move button. Ends any chance of a mouse slip ending in a bad move. I make enough of those on my own.

The thing you and other posters seem to be missing is that this is not a button here/button not here alternative.
The button can be disabled by each user, which makes whining quite as ridiculous as whining that some people are using chess.com when <insert some website here> is clearly better. (If you don't like it, don't do it, simple !)
The send button is important. It prevents mis-fires. It is similar to the nuclear launch protocols used in the United States and other nations. I'm pretty sure the "are you sure?" button or whatever it is in the White House and The Louvre have kept the world safe from accidentally starting a nuclear war so why are you complaining?
So... um, what is this SEND button that everyone is talking about? How come I don't remember seeing it?

Actually, considering that the macers posting in those 2 threads have the exact same username, either both of the are the real one or both of them are fake.
The SEND must disappear, regardless of anything posted here. This is non-standard in the world of chess.
