Getting blocked for no reason

@ToRestoreAllInChrist

I’m totally new to chess, and one of the things tripping me up the most is notation.

Can someone provide a basic reading list?

thanks!

This is my response. Everything is verbatim.

@ToRestoreAllInChrist

1. Watch Sesame Street.

2. Listen to The Count

3. Play Battleship.

Then I was blocked.

What I said is comical.

But it is actually true! And it is logically true.

I'm Vietnamese. I came to America when I was 10.

I learned English watching Sesame Street and The Electric Company.

My first introduction to Algebraic Notation was Battleship.

Why am I being blocked for telling the truth?

I have more experience any of you guys.

I didn't begin with Algebraic Notation.

I began with Descriptive Notation, back in the days. I had to buy an Algebraic version of Logical Chess - Chernev.

I also played Chinese Chess.

Chinese Chess uses Dead Reckoning.

Rook moves 5 steps forward.

Knight moves 2 steps forward, 1 step right.

Left Elephant moves diagonally, right, forward 2 squares.

Dead Reckoning has its uses.

I know Dead Reckoning. Who here can say that? Nobody.

I call it Dead Reckoning. It does not have a name.

Algebraic is easy peasy compared to other systems.

Literally, it is as easy as A, B, C and 1, 2, 3, like a Michael Jackson song.

Can someone explain logically what's wrong with my answer?

I think that you actually asking this question proves that you don't feel the need to think from the other person's perspective like, at all.....How would you feel if you ask a question about chess and receive a totally irrelevant response? No, don't say it was relevant......I had like over 100 average in Calc BC and I can tell you this is not how anyone learns to use algebraic notation. If you continue to argue it's relevant then you can only be called condescending as you are trivializing a valid question from a chess beginner. Be more considerate and relevant, and maybe you won't be blocked.

When you're answering someone else's question, it's not about you.

How do yo know it is irrelevant?

Think.

How does a child who does not go to school yet, learn A, B, Cs and 1, 2, 3?

Why not watch Sesame Street and the The Count on Sesame Street?

That is what Sesame Street was invented for.

I myself first learned Algebraic Notation on Battleship.

I am the truth from what I know.

Which part is it that is not relevant?

I will try to block the maximum number of users I can.

If you cannot see past yourself....you won't find the answer to these kinds of questions, nor will it be worth trying to talk to you. Unfollowing (just like your other thread).
And I figure I should stop responding to you in general.

Avatar of long_quach

The people who work on Sesame Street work hard to teach kids A, B, Cs and 1, 2, 3. Harder than anybody. That's their mission. Who does it better? Nobody.

What's wrong with Sesame Street?

@IsaacChessRapid

It's not me. It could be you.

And not on here, in society in general.

Although I can guarantee you something, they won't try that stuff on me face-to-face.

Apparently the other person didn't like your answer. Your post could be seen as implying they weren't as bright as a typical 4-year old. No matter how hard you try, you can't please everyone; some people just "rub you the wrong way" so relax and ignore them.

Anyone who is blocked, feel free to use my block bypass thread to quote and reply to posts in threads where people blocked you. If you wish, I'll PM the person who blocked you your response. Blocking is childish and should be abolished. I will never block anyone.

I played Chinese Chess when I was 9 years old in 1979 in Vietnam. With a chess set I made with bottle caps and a brown paper bag.

I was given a Jerger wind-up clock in the UVA Chess Club.

I played chess in a chess club. Time control was 90 minutes for 40 moves + 60 minutes.

I played chess on Yahoo Chess, long before Chess.com was invented.

I play chess in a "brewpub", 60 minutes, with my Jerger wind-up clock, and moves written down with a fountain pen.

What's your chess resume?

You live in Germany.

I have a Jerger wind-up chess clock given to me, made in Germany.

Do you have a Jerger wind-up chess clock made in Germany?
