GUNS

Never a good argument to say we only have them to stop them. It was once said by a very wise teacher:

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

What would you like to discuss?

Black powder?

My dad inherited from his father, my grandfather, an authentic late-1700s/early-1800s Kentucky long rifle.  I have never shot it.  It is just on display now.

Always wanted to reload, especially back in the old days when I used to shoot practical pistol, major category.  Certainly went through a lot of 45 in those days.  We still have a local range where we go to shoot rifles and handguns periodically, but there is no real close place where I can tactically shoot steel and paper with my handguns.

Who was faster? Robert Munden or Lucky Luke ?

Why not just say it came from the Bible, bc it did.....and defending yourself is not living by the sword.

Different eras, but Bob is a legend.  Wouldn't want to tangles with either one happy.png

That actually applies to those who make their living illicitly by violence, anyway.

Probably Bob, altho no one ever clocked Miss Oakley scientifically.

Glad we are friends EW wink.png

Lucky Luke was pretty dern fast !

StormCentre3

Bob could whip out his Colt .45 single action revolver , shoot a target and replace the gun in his holster in .0175 seconds.

Guinness Book of World Records

Not possible !

StormCentre3

It’s reported he could split playing cards edgewise ! Besides being so fast his accuracy was unparalleled.
You actually saw him perform! Do vids exist ?

@EW I got into practical pistol while stationed in Oklahoma.  I was no expert, but no slouch either.  I never won a match, but loved to compete.  I used a stock Glock 21.  My buddies had 1911 race guns, totally tricked out.  I still have my Glock 21, 2nd gen and it is still a tack driver.  I did win a few shotgun side matches that they had for fun.  You would have been one of those folks that used to just stun me with their speed.

JamieDelarosa

there are trick shot vids of Mr. Munden on youtube

Pat_Zurr

LOL, amazing the folks you run into on a chess site.  I never thought I would run into gun folks here since many I have met do not seem to relish firearms nor the 2A.

Pat_Zurr

Shooting .22 cal?

Pat_Zurr

I was gonna say you were shooting major in your other posts.  Anyway, good to see you still got it.

Pat_Zurr

Definitely was an expensive hobby and it is even more so now due to what is happening politically. Sad to see another ammo and gun shortage now with everything being so volatile,  Glad you are also a Glock guy.  I love them.

Pat_Zurr

Oh yeah, I heard all that from my 1911 buddies.  Plastic turd...not a real gun, feels like a squirt gun, but I never had an issue with it and it had nice light trigger fully capable of double taps.  I would not and won't carry with it because safe action trigger is not safe enough.  Got a 9mm sig 365 for that.
