Well maybe not quite the type of imagery we were hoping for....  But it was amusing.

Yes Haiku and Happy Easter to you and everyone!

Minuskel

Interesting! In German it works different. There are only 3 lines and no rhyme. Here an example:

Stromausfall.
In der Wohnung des Nachbarn
spielt jemand Klavier.

Interesting .... In English 5, 7 , 5 and generally about nature or a season.

Rhyming is not necessary.  Though when possible it does add to it.  I appreciate the old Japanese ones.  It is a touch stone to Japanese culture and if you know them you have something in common.

Did you get your power back???  happy.png

This one is great. Love it!

And on top of that: It is from a japanese user.

Wait ... do people play chess in Japan?

I heard that shogi is number one and chess is not so popular in Japan.

Is this true?

Thanks a million, @minuskel

I only live in Japan, actually from Scotland. And I haven't met many chess players here at all. Like you said, shoji is number (so yes, true) but even that I only ever (irregularly) see on the television. Having said that, there's a Team Japan club, so must be more...

The first Pawn advances.

The first shot is fired

Mine was a low-ku.

Your definition was far from complete, by the way. In addition to the 5-7-5 form, a haiku must also contain both a kireji and a kigo.
