Ok, heres an important question.

If there were bad people chasing you to get a...... crystal , that meant destruction, and they caught you holding out their hand in request of the object while holding your close friends at gunpoint, would you give them the crystal, or would you be willing to sacrifice your life for your best friends??

p.s. i know its long, but just answer it, thisll tell me what kinda people are on Chess.com

It doesn't matter because me and my friends could probably kick their sorry rear ends in a chess game regardless of if we are dead or alive.Cool

If the crystal meant "destruction" - on a grand scale (like genocide or of atomic-bomb proportions), well then the friends I keep would understand that they'd be doomed either way - by the gun or the crystal - and would not want me to fall for that false exchange. Plus they (nor I) would not want the burden of living with the knowledge that their lives were spared at the cost of many others.

Now, if the "destruction" was not on the souls-level (no lives would be lost, just material or financial loss like say, oh... a Market Crash?), then no human life is worth that. Do not exchange a soul for the inanimate - including your own.

If it was my life for theirs? All  of theirs? Guaranteed? Then yes, that sacrifice I would make. But how could you trust such a wager with a nefarious stranger?

As you get older, Cross, you'll see that life is no longer the black-and-white of chess where rules are followed - there are infinite shades of grey. But on the bright side (literally) there are also beautiful colors with tints and hues.

Listen, Trish, why do we watch these films? Sure the effects are great, but often we are drawn to them becasue there are characters that speak to us as if they know us or were us.

Also, they are often put out there as stories with a Moral to them - to have you ask yourself excactly the question you posted (but to explore your own attitudes, not that of others). This helps you sort through your own "moral-fiber" and find where it may be weak - where you could use some strengthening. Often that kind of lesson (how to do that strengthening) is also supplied in such film adventures.

You ask in another post whether it is better to be positive or negative, and someone said: Be who you wanna be. An excellent response. But you replied that "idk" who I want to be. Then pick someone you want to be like based on what you admire: Harry or Hermione... or as many young folk have adopted with their bracelets: "WWJD". That question is basically helping them be more like someone they admire: Jesus Christ. So ask yourself: did Jesus sulk and mope about because many of his people (the Jews, not his disciples) "hated him"? Or did he continue on for the most part being a positive example?
