Have the Forums themselves destroyed the Forums ???

Yes you knew it had to happen. All of these threads on the question of what has destroyed the forums have caused a major overload in the circuits and blown out the main fuses. We need to get out the duct-tape ( etc ) and repair the forums ASAP   lol.  

 There used to be a porn mag called "Forum". Perhaps the internet has destroyed that Forum ?

There is a problem with forums generally IMO. In a long thread, naturally more weight is given to later threads. Good argument and discussion could be overlooked if earlier. There are several jocular threads entitled "The last person to post is the (insert description)....", which in a way illustrate this..

If there could be only some way of weighting a forum threads merit and displaying good posts to be easily seen ...or perhaps some sort of mind mapping way of producing a three dimensional view...

Thanks for the post Ziggy_Zugzwang, some very good points there. It may become necessary to divide the Off Topic Forum into 2 parts ( or more ). Topics like " How Long To The End Of Life On This Planet " would go into the Serious part whereas something like " Which Tastes Better - Kit Kats or Coffee Krisps " would go into the Silly part of the forum ( there would be a lot of items in the Silly part to be sure   lol ).

Also we could divide the trolls into 2 groups, the Nice Trolls and the Bad Trolls. The nice ones just like to tease people and make some harmless little jokes now and then. The Bad Trolls often end up in trouble with the mods ( breaking the rules is a no-no ), but such is life.

Well it would seem that the auto-bots will destroy things on their own  lol. 

   And now we seem to have a thread-locking epidemic on the go here as well ( yup just had one of my threads locked ). Whatever you say Do Not use the " D " Word ( re the missing Mod  lol ). 

Well we seem to have a number of people at this site who claim there is nothing wrong while some smart people claim that they are trying to improve things here ( confusing isn't it  lol ).
