It IS riduculous.....so much so that my advice would be to just drive without the dam lisense. If you don't attract attention, they won't pull you over.

My dad drove for a year with a suspended license for a DUI. That was probably late 70s/early 80s.
My dad hasn't renewed his driving license since the 90s. He still drives daily to work.

Foolishly we had thought that applying two and a half years before the date would be adequate .............Ill keep folks informed.
We cant do that Jamie as we are residents in France for over a half year.
This was me driving the school bus yrs ago. When I got to the house to pick up the child, the parents looked at me and I said...."CHECKMATE"!

Sorry to hear that. Ubers can be expensive but at our age, we go out for food, clothes, & medicine.

Ive 2 cars, a Golf and a BMW.
My wife has not been refused a licence , its just a renewal of her existing UK licence to a French one . Its the paperwork that takes time , in this case after Brexit the French Government Agency (A N T S ) only started accepting applications on September 1st , and is quoting 9 months turn round! There are thousands of UK citizens now in France in the same boat .
After 31st December this year , ALL folk resident with a UK licence have to have a French one , hence the thousands of applications.
We thought applying in March 2019 would be adequate , but a combination of ineptitude and coincidences of the bad kind has resulted in this fiasco.
