Help with chess

Chess players are for the most part very logical.  I'm curious to know if anyone has ever tryied praying to a god or gods for help with chess?  If so did it work?  I seem to have hit a plateu and am wondering if I should spend big bucks on chess.com's Prodigy program and work hard at it, or, if I could save some money.  Let me know the god or gods I can count on.  Thanks in advance!
