One square in any direction along a rank or file, then 1 square diagonally away from it's original square.

It does not "jump over" but rather moves through occupied squares. The idea of an L shape is a silly notion, as if a right or left "turn" was made. No such maneuver can occur in chess.

They get 1 move per turn like all other pieces.  They do not get to move again.
