How do you deal with dry texters?

Apparently I'm a dry texter. And I don't know how to deal with them, as I don't mind dryness as long as it's not irl. ( ﾟ∀ﾟ)

I'm talking about people that are hard to have a conversation with in the sense that they provide lame and quick responses that don't allow for a conversation to take place.

You have to even out the dry conversation by sending wet messages is what I've learned.

I finally told this individual that I didn't want to say "hello, I'm doing great, thanks for asking. How are you?" every single day, and that we should have a real conversation sometime. She sent me 3 crying emojis.
