Correction - I periodically, keep erroneously referring to "Sylvia Browne"..{her Real name}.. as "Elizabeth".. for unknown reasons!?

Well.. Even to, perhaps, half-of-all 'Skeptics' - After, clicking the 'link'.. with More of those, in the article itself - It Shouldn't be a 'Total Waste'! - As it Beats, 're-arranging' the Titanic's deck-chairs'!

One thing for sure is that saying "life is inteslf a purpose and we exist to perpetuate life" is not a sufficient philosophical answer. To me it sounds exactly like saying "purpose of life is nothing, therefore do whatever you want". The purpose of existence, whatever it is, cannot be contained within the realm of existence itself since existence or life could not have created themselves. Therefore the purpose must transcend mere existence.

Every 'sports' competition, is a 'Living Testament'..{if you will}.. That Life, is Not void of All meaning..{if probably Not the Best counter-argument!} - And, even the 'Close-but-No-Cigar' competitors..{see link}.. Have their own Tales-lessons, to Tell!  o:

Another, counter-argument, to this titled thread - Ie. The quest for More knowledge, goes on '24-7'.. 365 days-per-year! ..{if you ignore the fact, that the continuing, 'cure-for-cancer' research.. is a decades-old, 'special interest' $cam!}.

Life is an endless waste of time in a finite universe.
cavetiger
Waste of resources too, taking up valuable energy and mass in order to waste its time asking silly questions.
cavetiger
That energy and mass could be much better utilised decaying quietly in a corner waiting for its own eventual and inescapable heat death. Much more efficient than life with all the fuss and noise it makes cluttering the universe.
cavetiger
Formaldehyde can form in deep space. The early building blocks of life are out there looking at each other askance and wondering, "Is there a God?", and "Am I, a formaldehyde molecule, made in his own image?"

A universe without any life in it all is at least orderly. You could even call it well mannered and polite. You could take a universe like that home to meet your mother.
cavetiger
"Life?", that universe might say, "Don't talk to me about life!" And then your mother would get the hump and send it home with a non-existent flea in its ear.
cavetiger
Maybe there really is no such thing as a polite universe.
cavetiger
Its a good thing they will all die out. Eventually ....
