precisely why the bunny will not try it as stated in the thread below that died a natural death from lack of carbs:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/ketosphere

weekends/holidays are the eat anything days for the bunny.  besides the kids refuse to eat when the bunny doesn't.  have to think of the children ...

That is all bunnies ever seem to think about.

Well we're pretty focused on the making part ...

they should have a search function within a topic.  don't know if i've posted this here before.  the last time bunny had bread was a month ago.  at yakun kaya - this set with coffee/tea, kaya butter toast & poached eggs is S$4.80 or S$3.80 with klook voucher .

There is compensation, though - Lots of satisfying, fatty food!

much of the fun in eating is sharing (except when you're starving), especially with family/friends.

Incidentally, compare the size of the plates at The Last Supper to the size of the plates we use today. happy.png

scarcity of food probably helped too ...

i do not understand diets that eliminate what many of us have lived on for thousands of years.

oh, no carbs? no dairy?

being picky about what we eat is the height of hypocrisy. no! i will not get my protein from animals! i will get it from insects!

AlCzervik

by the way, the last supper is a good movie.

Actually, a keto diet is what humans existed on for most of human existence. Agriculture is only a recent invention. Everything that's done on keto is done for a reason. The main idea is that carbs are bad, so you greatly limit the amount of carbs eaten. When carbs are eaten, your body converts them to glucose, which raises your blood glucose level. To control your blood glucose level, your pancreas has to produce insulin to push the excess glucose into fat cells. If you feed on carbs constantly, this constant exposure to insulin often makes a person insulin resistant, eventually resulting in obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

As far as dairy is concerned, you only want to limit the carbs from milk. Cream and cheese have almost no carbs and are usually OK to eat, unless you have some kind of dairy intolerance.

I will add that about 1/3 of the population appears to be able to burn carbs without significant problems. Unfortunately, I'm in the other unlucky 2/3 group.

Edit - Oh, and it IS possible to make "keto breads" using almond flour, coconut flour, or mashed up cauliflower.
