Just about anything goes, and anything is said in otf.
It always makes me sad throwing away moldy bread because I didn't eat it in time. We have grain elevators in the US that are filled with grain while people are starving in parts of the world.
Sorry to be such a downer. Now go eat some bread before it gets moldy. Don't waste it.

My family is from wheat country. A hail storm can wipe out your crop and leave your neighbor's standing.

They don't do much. They have custom cutters harvest the wheat. It goes into a local grain elevator and sits there until the price is high enough to sell it. Speculators in Chicago trade in wheat futures. You should hear the farm report on the radio. It's hilarious.
