How Would Our U.S. Presidential Candidates Play Chess?

This is NOT, I repeat NOT, a political discussion. If you get into politics, I will literally reach into my computer screen and try to eat you (although I'll probably fail since I don't want to ruin my laptop - it's pretty nice and was a gift).

We're discussing how our candidates (this includes Republican, Democratic, and 3rd party) would play chess.

HAPPY VOTING TOMORROW!!!

I'll begin:

Donald Trump would build a significant pawn wall that keeps out all of his opponent's pieces. It would be the greatest wall, absolutely fantastic. He'd even get his opponent to help build it by taking advantage of his opponent's moves.

(You can actually find a few examples of this positional play in some of my own blitz games)

... and he would only let White pieces inside.

Clinton would most like open with the queen pawn 1. d4.

You do know you may get muted for posting so many threads in such a short period of time, right dud?

She would also build up many hidden attacks, accidentally reveal the attack too early, and change her strategies throughout the game to try to win.

That would be kinky. But I haven't gotten any warnings from mods yet, probably because I'm posting such high quality content. I should lower my standards.

Now, back on topic... I don't know the 3rd party candidates well enough to personally go further.

Berlin Wall?

Haven't heard of that opening, although I just looked this up and saw that there is a Berlin defense. Definitely doesn't look like a pawn wall to me.

She would be hillaralariously trumped by that great wall and then probably be handed his next move in advance.

That's easy, they would cheat ... lmao

I heard Clinton played some pretty terrible games by e-mail, and when her opponents in the GOP found out she'd deleted all the corroborative evidence, they triggered an FBI investigation over the matter.  The only reason I can imagine Trump playing chess is that Putin requested a game to socialize during a summit meeting.  Since we all know that Trump would throw that game, I don't think we'll ever know how he would play if he was trying to win.

UnbridledOne

all I know is that Trump would probably have his hand on a piece every chance he could ;)

sleepingbeauty

lol especially when no one is looking.

StairwayToTruth

Although he's not a candidate now...

Dr. Ben Carson would make very slow, methodical moves but run either run out of time or lose due to his surprisingly extreme tactics.

UnbridledOne

Of all the good honest and decent players in the country, we got stuck with these two?  OMG!

sleepingbeauty

I know!  Every day i shake my head in disbelief.  The system is so broken.

StairwayToTruth

Let's stay on topic, my friends. No politics. Unless we're complaining about how the FIDE or USCF allow amateurs to infiltrate the system and cause massive inflation of ratings.

BronsteinPawn

Good luck with that.
