There is a YouTuber named Taco Stacks who drives around a junk van picking up curbside trash before the garbage trucks roll through. He sells what can be salvaged and breaks down ruined metal for scrap at the scrap yard. This is hard work, but it keeps material out of the landfill and earns enough to get by. He always says “Keep living the dream”, because just being able to work alone not having to answer to anyone was a dream to him. Work itself isn’t so bad, it’s the other people and what comes down from corporate that make it so hard to endure year after year.
