First of all, it ensures your spot to promote to next league without having to worry about being passed down while your offline. That, bragging rights (I guess), and nothing else other being a feat or accomplishment.
If your absolutely positive that your going to go up a league, you’d still have to wait. Even if it’s mathematically impossible for someone to pass you with the time left. The other league divisions are still competing, and may still have lots chances for change in positions.
