The point of fishing is to spend money and waste time. In this, it is much like hunting except there is no catch and release in hunting.

 

BTW, if you really want to spend money on fishing bait, take up fly tying. I think my initial investment in fur, feathers, threads, and equipment was about $2K. The satisfaction of tying your own is on par with handloading pistol and rifle ammo.
