Coaches offer a service which requires payment. Their livelihood depends on every cent they make from their tutoring.

You're lucky if you find volunteers, like HerrGehlert, who are nice enough to carve out some time from their day to help for free.

Hello; I'm probably the highest rated person to comment on here but I need to burst your bubble and say that no one is going to coach you for free. Coaches expect money by the hour and I don't know anyone that would just do it for free.

However, after looking at a couple of your games (and seeing as how you're 100-200 ELO) I can give a few tips as to how to win more games.

1. Pay attention. Before you make a move, ask yourself: "Is this square defended? Does it have more defenders than I do attackers?"

2. At this stage, there is no need to learn an opening; just learn basic opening principles like take control of the center, develop your pieces and get your king to safety.

3. Look out for your opponents mistakes. Like the aforementioned question, ask questions about your opponents moves: "Is that square defended? Can I attack or win that piece? Is that piece threatening to attack or win one of my own?"

With these basic ideas, you should be able to get at least to 800. If you can't implement this simple stuff into your games, I don't think a coach would help much more. Good luck on your chess journey and I hope this helps happy.png

Hi! I've been training students for 5+ years and they have achieved great success. If you're interested, consider DM me and we can take it from there.
