I always loved dogs, but I'm terrified of the idea of being responsible for a living thing. I believe all creations are equal, and should not be treated any less than us. And so I never took any actual steps towards owning a dog.
That and of course because I will have to provide for it. I also thought I shouldn't deprive a puppy from its mother, or a mother from its puppy!
But then the magical day has come! As I was taking a walk in the fields as I often do, I found this stray puppy near a garbage dump. He was reclining there face down and so quiet. He didn't mind my touch, he looked healthy and without bugs. No mother around. I decided to carry him all the way home, and he let me.
I knew nothing about raising dogs, but I figured, he's a puppy, he must be nursing. I bought a baby bottle and some milk. He was so starving that day, he kept biting it and licking it, but could not feed from it. I emptied the milk in a saucer and he just licked it all dry. The sloshing noises was so intense, it felt like a 1000 hungry wolves were eating from that saucer!
Having him for a few days now, I think I'm starting to figure out what happened to him. Whenever he heard the kids noises in the street, he'd go hide under the couch. He must have been kidnapped by some kids and was dumped away when they were finished with him. I can't think that his mother rejected him. I'm not sure if that behavior exist among dogs, but he is gorgeous and cute, his mother would have loved him dearly, that I am sure of.
And he's anything but quiet, he is a little devil and plays all the time! He was just that hungry! :D
