I Very Nearly Almost Died Today...

So, I was riding the bus back from my high school (where I attend as a senior) when three cars crashed right behind us. If our bus had been a little slower, the back end would have been hit and my head probably would have smashed into the window. Does anyone else have any stories like this? Try to keep it as PG as you can, if you could be so kind.

I think most of us living folks (me included) have had a few close calls in life.

I know, but it was just so sudden. And it wa a bus full of kids, so it could have been really bad.

Once, at night, I had an elk cross (more like leap across) the highway right in front of me. Had I hit it, there would have been nothing left of me.

Another time, again at highway speed, a car was entering the highway and didn't see me. He came within inches of clipping my back bumper. He was coming at a 90 degree angle to me, so had he hit me, there's no way I could have maintained control of my car. I probably would have flipped multiple times.

Those things really make you think about the fragility of life.

during a heavy rainstorm in a parking lot a couple of years ago, there was a driver (who had just passed by me), that quickly stopped his car & started going backwards to grab a parking spot right as i started walking behind him.

if he hadn't pushed into my arm switching into reverse i wouldn't have known there was any danger, as i had already looked both ways, was wearing a hood & the downpour was deafening.

i barely had time to start madly cycling my legs as he shoved me back (for about 20 feet), before he braked & threw me to the ground.  if i hadn't reacted so fast & stayed upright, i would have been run over.

Wow, that must have been terrifying.

I have a really close call I was 1 Inch from death for real but it's not pg for the kids on this site

it happened too fast to be scary... i was still in the indignant, 'hey!' phase & then it was over & i was too happy to be alive & unhurt to confront the driver (probably should have, but meh).

reflecting on it gives me the chills, though.  😬

Mind messaging it to me? If not, I get it.

Yeah, half the time, you're usually too confused to be scared. Your instincts take over and that is usually that.

All of these were somehow, maybe indirectly caused by other humans.

@EscherehcsE and if cars didn’t exist then people would crash them into deers and elks

I had lots, none nearly as dramatic as urs tho. They were just like one second.

Once as a little kid I cut my own bangs and could’ve poked out my eyeballs

Oh...I assume everything turned out okay?

Oh, now that you mention it, something similar happened when I was also a kid. When I was a few weeks old, half my heart died. But then it somehow grew back. IDK how that worked, but I am grateful that it did because I wouldn't be alive today if it hadn't.
