I will Not feed THE troll

I have an idea I'll discuss in the new club, if there is one. Meanwhile, I'll just put it into practice, you'll notice. Steal the ball.

RonaldJosephCote

To the idea that this thread will feed hi, not so. He would have to respond in another thread. I'm thinking he's been here before under a different name of course. His whole persona is made up. Everything is just a little off the mark to be proven.

I do not really get it. Is it the birth of some sort of Ministry of Information? If you feel like ignoring the guy, ignore the guy. Writing (not naming and shaming) about yours well founded intention seems pretty odd. Despite occasional annoyance, he delivered surprisingly good platform allowing communication to new and regular users of forum, also he has matured a tiny bit, shaking off some really unnecessary motives. If I were in charge of chess.com forum, instead of taming him, I'd keep paying him to piss you off, alike few others with merciless regularity.

RonaldJosephCote

"occasional annoyance"??   He's created 130+ threads in 2 monthsshock.png  15 have been locked.  You don't find that a bit odd?    WHO could possibly say SOoo little,  about SOoo much minutia?

Bonsai_Dragon

"Good platform?" I have busted him on three different occasions in the last week simply copying and pasting articles and/or quotes from another website to post as his own. You feel this is acceptable or perhaps a good example for new users?

Taurusmale67

Guys mods can not discuss other member's accounts.  You don't see what happens behind the scenes and my PM's are open but don't expect me to discuss another member it won't happen.

RonaldJosephCote

Bonsai has him on the plagiarism. I have him on the thread volume. Someone else has him on the "cherry picking" for his defense---"Well it was just a joke"-----"my threads are chess related"----"I don't block, its the mods job to police a thread".  It all gets very nauseating, and I remember a time--4 months ago, when it was relaxing to come to this site. You look around, you have the chess people in the chess threads. A couple of clean jokes in off-topic. You post a little, you LEAVE. You don't stay here for 12+ hrs day after day after day.

RonaldJosephCote

Speaking of staying here for 12 hrs, I gotta go dig my car out of snow. I'll be back tonight to feed my animals.happy.png

Fine, @RonaldJosephCote on some occasions post getting locked because getting to hot, like discussing religion and/or sexuality, sometimes it comes from thread topic, still 10% is vaguely noticeable.

@Bonsai_Dragon I recall some not well used Fisher quotation, and I do despise plagiarism, the thing is that on social media authorship becomes tricky problem. Pointing it out is part of the "job".

My point is, you could produce thread once a day to creatively compete, yet you use your time to call and mastermind some form of censorship. He offers you his energy and enthusiasm, you are complaining about the form of it. I do understand the problem, and that problem exists. I also think that you do take not the optimal (too radical) way to solve it.

I pledge to not post in any troll(s) forums.  Power in numbers!

I have also blocked the member that shall not be named.

I actually think the worst thing he does is constantly play the victim. It's a little irritating but it also trivialises something that's actually a huge struggle for some people. He's compared himself to homosexuals murdered by ISIS, and the only provocation he needed to do this was somebody saying he should jump off a building. He complained about a user writing the word "fairy" in one of this threads, though the comment was not directed at him, nor was it insulting in any way. If he really is gay, he should be ashamed of the insensitive way he tries to twist these interactions into some vicious verbal attack.

What he is doing is nothing more than what society has spiralled into...the "victim" mentality.  Taking absolutely no responsibility for themselves, and always playing the "victim"

We chess.com regulars would never be able to get him censored any more than a moderator could.

in fact, that very point was just made.

you want him left around.  that'ss entirely possible maybe even probable,   he will get SOME attention from folks, no matter what.

the point here is to make an impression on our new celebrity and let him know that fawning, and obsessive participation is a privilege and should not be assumed no matter how offensively and awfully he writes.

I'm not asking for a Neverending ban or anything.  and even now- I think yall should go our to write your posts and think about the many things he has written.

But Just give it a week (thursday to thursday and espacially the weekend.)

@ Scherbak is that if you see the problem and know it exists. the status quo is No solution.  and having the REGULAR guys to quit posting Is the only way to solve it.  do exactly as you say... engage other guys- add creative, energetic, enthusiastic posts.  I'm fine with it.

like a mod we all have to ask where is the line (too much BS)... but if absolutely everyone gets a different answer... its no answer at all

Hes like  stray cat.  Feed him and he will never leave.

So, not even like a troll post?

That's inhumane!

GodsPawn2016

We could create a group where we can discuss what WE want, and limit who can be involved.  You know...be typical white christian Trump supporters.

why are we not allowed to create a group like this?

The purpose is to be able to discuss things not allowed in the forums, and with the added bonus of not having to be exposed to the open discussion which is electronic ugliness.
