in FACT, in my hometown.  I would say that chinese food is some of cheapest in town.  Only pizza and fast food is cheaper.

so half-ways around the world (from me), at practically at china's doorstep- it is expensive, Why?  :curious

Behind, 'S. Polgars' 'bs' talk, about 'showing respect' for 'cultures' of {tournament}, 'hosting' countries.. Is a 'topsy-turvey'/'cart-before-the-horse' respect, for $ponsorship.

Better to play these tourneys, in a confined space, above a 'bowling alley'! ..{a joke}. [ :

@Jason

Singapore is closer (compared to the States) to China but it's not at her doorstep........

Malaysia is at Singapore's doorstep 😊

Chinese food is cheap in the States? Fast-food Chinese or authentic restaurant styled dined-in Hainanese/Szechuan cuisine?

How can someone living in America bear the name Nazi Paikidze-Barnes?

livat01

Even if she is a sweet, 22 year old American chess star, such a first name would rise some eyebrows, here and there.

Pulpofeira

Originally the name was Nazí. Precisely because she's living in America it is Nazi now.

livat01

If your original name was Stalin, would that be okey too in America? We have such names in Sweden Laughing

Pulpofeira

Why not, America is big but the world is much bigger, and there are many languages. I think it is easy to change it there if I'm not wrong.

livat01

Seems to be more tolerance of 'funky' names over there than in Sweden Smile

I'd be surprised if she used that name though. Even if it's her official name, it doesn't mean that's what people know her as.

Anyway, and old story but it comes to mind
