Logic will always be there.

Why?

Logic.

But, but, what is logic?

Logic

You're just using semantic self-reference, a logically flawed methodology of proving why a thing must be logical. It's a form of circular reasoning.

Logic is illogical

If logic relies on itself to exist, it cannot thus be logical by definition. Where does the logos appear in existential reality? I've asked this question to many professors of philosophy, and have received no answers thus far which logically prove the existence of logic.

That means that logic cannot be based in itself, because that would simply be a circular argument based on an appeal to authority (logic being the authority).

Authority being logic.

Logic must be based on one metaphysical aesity, Illogic.

Authority does not equate to logic. Appealing to authority is considered logically fallacious.

Boy.

Like, guys? How do you even begin to prove the existence of logic? You can't use empirical examples, only the rationale of your own subjective cognition.

Avatar of FM_Checkmate

Ugh.

Avatar of XemeNode

See? You can't even use logic to prove why I'm wrong, and I'm not.

Swollen ego alert.

Maybe we can debate this in a more appropriate thread. I'll create one myself.

No thanks.
