How would it be different from state?
It would be fun and its about having fun truthfully with interesting play. My team would get demolished by yours but my All-Star Team vs Yours idk who win. Plus every sport has a All-Star game of sort or pro bowl why not chess?
Glenbrook actually did that. 2 years ago glenbrook north didnt have a chess team so they went to glenbrook south ans had their team combined.. However some vote was taken and the glenbrooks where split up.. Now North and South have a team but if their team merged they would be op.
They would be strong but most contenders for state first 3 boards are 1600-2200 then you have people upset your op teams. Payton's board 1 just beat Whitney Young board 1 at the city championship. He is rated 1800-1900 but I never thought she win let alone be up a whole piece. Then you have Whitney Young board 1 Last year finish 5.5 out of 7 rated 2200-2400 and didn't medal but we are only 16 17 18 years old we still make mistakes and make bad choices.

Hi, I am Dexter from Leo High School me and another student were talking about an CCL(Chicago Catholic League) All-Star team. A team comprised of the best player or players from there respective conference or area(At least one player from every team a conference with 4 or more). Since my school resides in Chicago there would be a public and private school All-Star team.Coaches from other schools would have to appreciate not only their players skill but other players skill and strength. The coaches would come to a democracy of the team when voting players. Big conferences can have multiple teams say CCL team 1 and CCL team 2 due to the strength and numbers of the conference and indicision on voting.I think this would have players interact with each other and come together with this game of chess. It would be competitive but fun. The teams could play in a tournament or two and show the true strength of Illinois HS chess. It would bring out the best in everybody and involving this quality bonding very few of us chess players get unless at a tournament. Chess is so fun and competitive. It forms friendships and bonds that lead to later on in life. I would never run from an oppenent or from a challenge. Send me Magnus is what I always say. It is idea and didn't have anywhere to pitch it to. Thank You For Your Time
