INTJ; The Worst Personality Type
MMPI is astrology from the late 20th Century.
It was created in the early 20th century and evolved towards Astrology
.
Such is the fate of many an endeavor...to be used as pseudoscience when the science does not turn out to be valuable ($$$) on its own.
I thought it was a postwar development. Otherwise, this and most other personality typographies seem to be indistinguishable from hokum.

I would say at this point still a bit short of hokum. If you polled the entire forum, you will get an even distribution of Astrological signs, but MBTI types here would be skewed from the general population percentages.
Still, you could give everyone a test that asks "do you like games?" and "do you like logic?" and it would obviously be predictive of chess players as well...so the question of actual real-world value is valid. The value here only really lies in the fact that the test is well-known, and results are comparable...so it's like shorthand. Instead of saying "I like these 56 things, what do you like?", you ask for 4 letter codes
. Think makeup...does being an "Autumn" actually mean much of anything? No, but it does mean *something* that is a starting point when two people are talking at the Macy's counter...so there is some limited utility there.
I have yet to met an actual living breathing human who takes this test seriously.
That would require leaving your Mom's basement.
Sorry...I know, I know...low hanging fruit. Didn't really mean it, but it was just sitting there. I tried not to say it, and I held out for a good 5 minutes, for the record.
It's like a game show host saying "Dora was so dumb..." and then the audience trying not to yell "How dumb was she?" in unison...
i highly agree one character flaw of intjs is that they are too confident in their planning to realise that mistakes can be still made
"Patriarchal"
As an female who recently found out I'm an INTJ, that's just rude. You think I can just change how I treat the world with tears and emotion and warmth?
Perhaps the reason we're all so cold to you is because "just change to your feeling type" is so unbelievably foolish.
You should not be stereotyping people based on four letters. If you don't like me, thanks. I don't care. Go read my personality descript.
true it is a serious misconception that intjs have no emotions .... press their buttons they will get mad soon enough ..... intjs like to hide their feelings under the mask but will show friendliness with ppl whom they are familiar

Logic is like a mental lobster trap. Once you accept the premises, you're stuck in the web awaiting the boiling water.
Descriptions of N/S and T/F always read to me like "this type of person is a drooling sub-human monkey, and this other type of person has a functioning brain."
Although it seems common to like your personality type, whatever it is. Some utterly embarrassing (to me) type like *SF* once told me they felt lucky to have the best type, and that's when I realized
I tend to agree, but SF types can see NT types as people that discard details and emotional considerations for the bigger picture, and that they care about logic and facts over people and their wellbeing.
NT types can see SF types as being people who can't see the forest for the trees, and who value feelings and small-to-medium human considerations over the greater good for everyone.
NT types, I think, are more pushed down by American society. The culture, rampant with SF types, are very focused on emotions and emotions only. Do what you feel is a popular catchphrase, and not do what you think is best. Anti-intellectualism is more prevalent than ever in America, and it’s hurting NT types.
All my opinion, but it’s hurt me (an NTP, E or I is still unsure) personally.

I disagree… one key thing of INTJ people is that they love being told when they are wrong. They sometimes (like myself) want to be wrong to figure out why.
