The idea of carving out pumkins and putting lights in it was originally made to ward off "evil spirits" And overall it has a lot of zombie, ghost, and witch stuff so if you don't believe in that then don't celabrate it. Many people who celebrate it don't know what it actually is. Wikipedia has a good definition in case anyone is interested.

it's related to it. Two different types of people are celebrating it. The worshiping Satan kind of people and the trick or treating people. The holiday on the whole isn't good. It's not glorify God in any way soo it isn't the best for Christians to participate. You also have to remember that the devil is extremely verry easy to be fooled by. The cartoon devil isn't the devil. He was the most beautiful angel! So sin can look pretty inviting...
