is it just me, or are spam posts a lot more frequent recently?

maybe im going insane, but i keep coming across spam forum posts advertising random products recently. usually these accounts seem to be created for this exact purpose too. i dont remember this happening before as often as it does now. where are they all coming from?? has it always been this frequent???

im aware they're bots, but i dont remember seeing this many before. it's like they all suddenly appeared out of nowhere

There are bots, lots of them and since long. There were keto gummies spam, now I can also see abortion pills, magical herbs and other paramedical bulls**t.
I used to read this forum a lot and stopped because of those bots. I am simply tired looking for anything interesting to read amongst all the spam. It is a shame moderators still have to remove such threads manually instead of doing ANYTHING like adding filter for keywords or simply introducing captcha for new users.

They don't want to add anything like that. And these posts were more frequent a few months ago but they've always been around.
