The commercial line was "Is it live, or is it Memorex?" Not "real".

Gee, I can't even steal a slogan without getting criticized...

Some lawyer might soon try a suit based on identity theft. They might have an argument.

This reminds me of the “likeness” controversy around sport’s athletes. Companies use college athletes likenesses for things like video games but they don’t get paid for it.

People are already using AI to create songs with singers voices. I agree with EW, eventually there will be some kind of legal repercussion. It’s tricky because one hand it’s not real, and some of this stuff might wind up being protected under somthing similar to the “parody law”. (That’s how Nathan Fielder got away with creating his own “Dumb Starbucks”.)

It was eventually shutdown for “health code violations “.

People would wait in line for hours to get some Dumb Starbucks. One lady drove pretty far to get some coffee from there and was later interviewed; she said the coffee was watered down and she felt dumb. Another costumer came to so that she she could sell the “Dumb” cup on EBay. I think that was rather smart.

Guys, AI is just getting worse. Now Microsoft is threatening to put it in Windows 10. (I think it's already in Win 11?)
