is my friend ok?

So like today I was at the store with my boyfriend Alex and I saw one of my friends, we will call him Paul for anonymity. Some backstory is needed but we dated back in highschool and HE broke up with me because he was too scared.

He walked up to me and basically said “Hey man, what’s up.” And we talked for a few moments before he noticed Alex. He said “Wait you are gay?”

I was completely confused at that moment because he LITERALLY dated me before. i just kinda look at him and awkwardly laugh.

i told him about how we dated five years ago and right after the breakup I got with Alex.

“Yeah haha .. I’ve dated Alex for four-ish years.”

He just like ran off? What the hell is goin on
