Junk Foods: What Affect Does It Have?
The short term effects at best would be the junk food gives you a bit of energy. I'm not sure if or how the mind would use that energy though. There could also be negative effects of which i'm not sure about.

Well, if you become an obese person with a 55-inch waist, you will physically move slower and have to sit further back from the board just to fit in that gut full of lard, and so it will take you longer to do the physical aspects of making a move, which will put you in a worse spot in a time scramble.
For me though, it's no much what I eat, but when I eat. I hate eating within 30 minutes before round time. The food hasn't settled in and here you are starting the game. Stomach often isn't happy when that happens, you get lethargic, etc.

I understand that it makes your stomach feel uncomfortable but, any immediate effects on the brain? Maybe like making you miscaculate more often or can't calculate at all? Or does it just making you fell like resigning at move 1?

Lol....they all look 'high' on drugs. But seriously, if that were to happen to me while playing in a tournament ( real life ) I'm sure I would be kicked out for 'alleged use of illegal substance(s)'....

What is this? You all are just giving me some funny YouTube post that has nothing to do with the original pupose of this post..... Giving something that isn't sung by a bunch of lunatic cartoon characters!!

it makes you fat, don't think that is a good enough answer well... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+does+junk+food+do+to+you%3F
it has long term affects that will ultimately be detrimental. nothing short term.
but after you eat a big meal there's more blood flowing around the stomach, less available for the brain. probably doesn't affect anything all that much, if it does it's very slight and something you don't really have to worry about. but I don't think I would want to eat a significant amount of food right before I played. I would eat at least 30 minutes to an hour beforehand.
Okay so, I've been wondering, how much does junk foods affect our chess playing abilities? I mean, I have heard that junk foods have various negative effects on our health such as making us sleepy and unable to concentrate and weight gain etc etc..... But what I really wanna know is : will eating junk food make a 1600 play like a 700 ?? And I don't mean people who always eat junk food as a habit, but someone who just sit down, take a packet of junk food and start to play chess.
